hello Hawaiian family this is mrs. osano just want to make sure that every everyone has an opportunity to know what the reopening plan for our district and school is so the me the board meeting approved the play on March 16th and we will have Virtual Academy as well as some in-person instruction which is going to be known as a simultaneous hybrid model of family must complete a ride patient process and students would return my cohorts A or B beginning of the week of April 12th so it's going to be really really important. steps to register if you are interested in participating in the in school instruction are followed so you have two options either you remain in the Virtual Academy we have actually eight weeks of school when we come back from Spring Break and you have to do that here today or at home the five days or when there is not their time to be at the site everyone is still doing the same things no one is going to be getting more than the other students a person will But I do need you to understand that the schedule will change for all students virtual and hybrid we are now going to be doing 4 hours and 55 minutes of the school day we are still pending to find out what's our starting time due to Transportation this is a big effort and show work tutoring course you know all the students all the way through 12th grade so dismissal time is going to depend on the starting time so this is an example of only a right now the day begins at 8:30 so 4 hours and 55 min our day will end at 1:25 for sure I can tell you that our new time for Reese's it's only 15 minutes and then 30 minutes for lunch as you know them because we'll have some students attending school here and I know to be very careful with keeping the group's individualized you know each group is that a bubble it's a cool word that doesn't mix with others I will have different time For Recess cuz I can I have to have enough supervision outside and the play equipment which I'll talk a little bit more about show know that students do will change of course as you remember or if you're in you please know that our schedule was always 8 in the morning before and so if that is the case if the district says I need to go back to 8 of course we do not end the day at 1:25 right I have to take away those 35 minutes so we would be just missing at a different time so again this is pending hopefully April I mean March 31st for those thinking of in-person learning please know that our classrooms will hold a maximum of 12 students we will have plexiglass on teachers and students there's no that required math and 65th distance students when they come to school online learning they must bring their Chromebook and chargers chargers and then of course they must bring whatever materials maybe need it for school on those days request on those days as requested by their teachers all students must know how to turn on the devices log into Google classroom and access their assignments you know independently because I didn't ask you know we need to maintain 260 physical distancing and so that's going to be something that we're going to be really enforcing again like I mentioned Reese's will be 15 minutes Mass required during recess students will only be able to engage in individual play what that means is that we will have some equipment out there that can only be used by one student and students cannot be bouncing the ball and you know sharing with someone else and so will be creating a rotation for activities at recess time and each classroom each classroom mythical horse so no mixing of course is allowed a lunch in 30 minutes and we will continue to offer free lunch for all students whether your virtual or you are participating that day in school learning lunch will be right now scheduled to do it in the class we need to know how many students will have here so if space allows allows we will use our lunch benches but again we need to maintain that six-week distance as soon as students are finished with lunch where their mouth so the simultaneous hybrid there is an enrollment process the strict window to enroll parent must accept the offer by the deadline and you must do the parent agreements not following the parent agreements may result in dismissal from the symbol taneous hybrid model so I'll go a little bit into more detail there will be a right here during the week of March 17th through the 19th where we are providing information to our parents moving on to when you are able to submit the enrollment form you have starting at 18 all the way XXII I really need this out of here it's 20 second no later than noon 12:00 noon on Monday on March 25th parents will be notified of their cohort assignment and the district is the one making those determinations by March 26th no later than 6 p.m. parents must accept a cover so that's the second part of this if you do not accept the offer then the child automatically is in our Virtual Academy okay now the first week of in-person instruction for those that selected and follow the process going to be the week of the 12th April 12th through the 16th I want to remind you that when we come back from spring break I also want to remind you that right now ask for County orders if you leave a the county and the state to travel then you must guarantee when you come back so your children would not be able to begin in in person if you traveled and this is the that I want to remind all of us that it is going to be up to all of us to ensure the safety of all our children to ensure that we remain healthy that we don't have to close down classrooms and go quarantine so please take that very very seriously because our decisions impact others so awkward a begins Monday Tuesday April 4th and 13 in school 15 and 16 of course since Monday they were in class in Virtual Academy don't remember that so very important dates right there for you to remember and so how do we make this decision parents may ask I'm providing you with this fool just so that you can have some statements that you this is a very personal decision and that you do need to consider and I want to just share that on the first one feeling comfortable with the school planet is student or staff member I send symptoms or test positive for a covid-19 so with the support of our nurse we are going to have to make a determination and find out if in fact then we would need to quarantine either one student or the entire cohort this is why it's important what I need you to understand as well so is that because you may have siblings in the school then we may need to you know according more than one Court So the plan that you have to be ready with is that in case that happens then your children the staff goes into quarantine and we go going to work for learning then at that point if you are in that particular course of course you will receive notification but because of course this is confidential information we cannot disclose who is the person so please just keep that in mind again I remind you that this is everyone's responsibility to ensure that your chill sending your children to school only if they're healthy if they're okay another big consideration that I would not make sure that Karen consider is the fact that children who are their masks all day long and so please know that that is something that you need to start practicing with him if this is the option that you're choosing because we will have a very strict enforcement of the mask and the six feet away so your child needs to be able to follow those instructions for the safety of our students and staff and your families please know that if your child unable to follow instruction then we will have to meet and we may then so please know that that's going to be you know your responsibility but that's something that you need to consider as well if we call you from the school we need to have someone that is available hippie to pick up your child now when it comes to them being able to do work independently I want to remind you that your house still her 22 to 28 students in the classroom so happens that some of them are online and some of them may be present so please can my child work independently be focused remain seated because a teacher is going to be also be no in the computer you know how helping other students and of course you want this to be something that does not affect them academically and again these are very very personal decisions I can tell you that I was a parent myself a bus 6th grader I had to make that personal decision myself so please make sure that you have a conversation as a family and you make than that determination so if you have any questions please do not hesitate
