hello Hawaiian family this is mrs. Lozano your principal this is the end of February the beginning of March can we believe it so I have three important updates I'm going to keep them short and sweet number one abcusd continues with a reopening plan so pretty soon you will be receiving information about your options you will continue to have an option of Virtual Academy or hybrid in all those details will be sent to you by the district and also by our school so please make sure that you are reading that information of course we will be holding meetings to keep you informed as well as second announcement very important it is about our reading and math assessment I we have a window that begins March 1st all the way through the 12th these are assessments that are very poor and your child must do independently you are not helping your child if you're helping your child take the test we need to know what they can do totally by themselves so that our teachers can better support them and provide the appropriate instruction make sure that your child has the camera on their headphones and that there is a quick quiet area app for taking assessments and for learning in general these last two points are all the time camera on headphones in a quiet place to learn finally 4r lots of sediment that is mandatory English language proficiency assessment for California called the elpac this test is going to take place March 10th through the 12th and it will be at Terry Middle School by appointment this is only for those students that are English Learners you will then receive a message with a survey. we need you to reply as soon as possible as we need to find out if you are able to take your child to ferry to take the test or if you're going to need Transportation because the district is willing to provide a bus. pick up and take them to fairy and bring them back to Hawaiian on the date of your appointment please read that email if you don't know if your child is identified as an e l a please call me school office and we can let you know but you can check your records in the report card it would show you that they have ELD grades or you should be receiving every year results for the L so that's it for now please stay safe we will keep you informed if you have any questions don't hesitate to call our office thank you so much for your support
